Spring is officially here, yay!... Which means it's time to get your skin prepped and ready... so you don't look like you just crawled out of a stifling hibernation hole. No one wants to look like that!
I've been flipping through fashion magazines for months now and am in LOVE with the Spring/Summer 2015 beauty trends, especially the fresh-face look.
Though this look has been around for a while, designers opted to use less or no makeup on the runway this time, which means the natural look is here to stay (for a while, at least!). Calvin Klein went for the polished look while Marc Jacobs sent his models down the runway wearing no makeup whatsoever - literally barefaced.
I'm into the "clean, come-as-you-are skin" or what I like to call the "yoga glow" - that dewy, luminous, post-workout flush, because it makes you look healthier and younger.
Since I found this trend refreshing, I thought I'd share it with you, along with an easy way to exfoliate your face. I wrote about the importance of dry brushing in my Skin Detox Guide (which you're hopefully doing everyday), so if you do both, you'll soon be on your way to having lots of warm weather fun! - (side note - don't forget to eat your greens and healthy fats!)
EXFOLIATING SKIN SCRUB ~
Natural and for all skin types.
This is an amazing, easy exfoliating scrub for your face. The oats get rid of dead skin cells, dryness, irritation and inflammation. It moisturizes your skin while gently removing dirt and oil from your pores.
Yogurt contains high amounts of lactic acid that stimulates collagen production and helps refine your pores. It's great for even the most sensitive skin.
Raw honey is a natural humectant, so it locks in moisture, keeping your skin super soft. It heals skin damage, gently exfoliates, soothes the skin and helps with dullness. It detoxifies and oxygenates, giving you glowing soft skin.
- 2 Tbsp Oats
- 1 Tbsp Organic, whole yogurt
- 1 tsp Manuka Honey or Raw Honey
Mix all the ingredients well, massage the scrub into your skin for several minutes, then leave it on for another 20-30 minutes. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry.
